Morris Blueberry Farm’s Lazy Blueberry Pie

In Uncategorized on June 3, 2009 at 5:01 pm

1. Melt 1 stick margarine in a 9 x 12 pan

2. Mix 1 cup milk, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour and pour over margarine

3. Add 1/2 cup sugar to 2 cups blueberries and pour over mixture

4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour

(Editor’s note: I don’t know that I ever remember Grandma making this, but it sure sounds easy, and I think Grandma would agree that the best thing to do with fresh, ripe blueberries before eating them is … as little as possible! Do any of you remember Grandma making any of the recipes on this flyer?)

  1. I don’t specifically remember blueberry pies, but she did like to make blueberry congealed salads, and add blueberries to fruit salads and ambrosia. We’d put them on cereal, and sometimes just have a bowl mixed with Dream Whip or sugar. In the early days when we got whole milk from Ray Munns, Momma would make her own whipped cream. Ummmmmm…good!

  2. I do remember this dessert… it was not really pie… more like cobbler and it was delicious. I think I will make some with the blueberries we just bought at Nelson’s in New Bern.
