(Editor’s note: Under the headline “Playtime,” the Sun Journal cutline reads, “Playgrounds and children seem to go together — where you find one, chances are you’ll find the other. These junior gymnasts took advantage of the weekend’s warm temperatures to practice some original moves.” Grandma/Momma/Bee wrote, “Taken of Boyd & her children — printed in Sun Journal.” Do any of you know the story behind this? And which playground this was?)

  1. Yes, this is the playground that was in walking distance from the old green tryon road house. I remember that day!

  2. What fun… yes, I remember this day. It was funny, the photographer must have used a telephoto lens because he was no where near us but later called for permission to use the photos. This was the playground, Fort Totten, where I worked for the city the first summer after I started college. Yes, just a few blocks from the house on Tryon Road.

  3. I remember that playground!

  4. Aunt Boyd, you worked for the city? What did you do? And what year do you reckon this newspaper article appeared?
