(Editor’s note: This program, as well as the below audio file, is from the Sunday service Daddy, i.e., Uncle Bobby/Bobby, and I attended at St. Paul United Methodist Church in St. Matthews in August of 2009. Julia Helen is the choir director and organist, so click to download, and then enjoy the sounds. Sorry you can’t hear all the way through the benediction … I ran out of tape!)

(Editor’s note: These photos are from Julia Helen’s wedding in 1959. Doesn’t she look like a princess! Mary says she thinks the cake was vanilla with buttercream frosting.

Aunt Boyd/Boyd, at 10 years old, served as junior bridesmaid. To read more about the dress she’s wearing, read the comments here.)

(Editor’s note: These photos and newspaper clipping are from Grandma/Momma/Bee and Granddaddy/Daddy/Bob’s wedding in August of 1942. As the paper tells you, Grandma’s maid of honor was Willa Smith, her best friend at the time. Maclean King, Grandaddy’s first cousin and the son of his father’s brother William, was his best man. Julia Helen was flower girl … but interestingly enough, the paper calls her “ring bearer.” In the 1940s, were “flower girls” not done?)
