  1. I’m trying to remember, but I think the New Bern Coca Cola bottling plant was run by a McDaniel family, they were members at First Baptist and good friends of Momma and Daddy. I wonder if they were relatives of the Walterboro McDaniel family. I want to say that Carey was friend with the granddaughter of the McDaniels’ family and they lived in DeGraffenried Park, about 5 blocks from our house in DeGraffenried extension.
