Buttermilk Biscuits

In 2-Minnie Anna (Sister) Dodd Garris 1874-1957 on August 16, 2015 at 8:57 am

2 Cup self-rising flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 Cup cold shortening
1 Cup buttermilk

Mix flour, baking powder, & cut in shortening. Add milk and mix quickly. Knead for few seconds on floured board. Roll out with rolling pin or just a smooth glass. Bake in greased pan at 450 F for 12 mi. Serve hot with butter & fig preserves.
